If you are still using an old smartphone to send whatsapp messages,you may need to switch to a new one this christmas.

Whatsapp is turning 7 this 2017 and with its birthday in line WhatsApp announced a few changes in its services this new years.WhatsApp has announced that it will no longer support a range of old operating platforms by the end of 2016.The Folks at WhatsApp said that they will be phasing out support for older Windows,Android and Apple by Jan-2017 and Blackberry and Nokia by June-2017.

By the end of this year WhatsApp will stop running on:-

  • Android 2.1 and 2.2
  • Windows Phone operating on Windows 7
  • I-Phone 3GS or apple devices running IOS6
  • Blackberry
  • Nokia Symbian OS

 

The App which is now used by more than a Billion people worldwide had this to say in its deffence :-

As we all know that WhatsApp has recently expanded its domain not just as a messenger app but its latest features include voice calling,video calling,E-mailing conversations,instant share,editing on the go and many more.The older smartphones with older operating systems can no longer keep up with these latest features .

SO ARE WE REALLY AFFECTED..?

Not really,as the operating systems of Android and IOS people are being using as a majority is pretty advance than the numbers mentioned above,never the less there is a large majority of people who belive in old id gold and are still using the old versions.So if they want to use the messenger app they would have to upgrade their smartphones.
